ORMER TÆRE ALL MIN SAFT

Sonshine (2020) presented as part a the group exhibition at Destiny’s, an artist-run gallery founded in 2016 by Emilie de Rohan Birkeland, Nora Joung, Ray Hegelbach, and Melanie Kitti. The exhibition title “ORMER TÆRE ALL MIN SAFT” (“Worms devour all my juice”) is taken from a hymn considered one of the finest Easter hymns in the Norwegian church, Som den gylne sol frembryter. The hymn was written by Thomas Kingo in 1689.
In celebration of the autumn season, the exhibition explores themes of fertility, growth, blossoming, and decay on multiple levels.
